With new projects and developments around the corner we need a Tourism and Community Development Support Officer to assist in the smooth operation of a variety of community-led activations. This could include support for events, organisations or initiatives that enhance the quality of life, vibrancy and services available to Shire residents and visitors.
The Role
The Murchison Shire is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual for the role of Tourism and Community Development Support Officer.
No day will be the same as the last as you support event management, communications, visitor information and the corresponding administration required to make these areas run smoothly. You will need an outgoing and welcoming attitude to be successful in this role.
In your cover letter please share with us any volunteering experience you have along with experience living or working in rural or remote locations.
An attractive salary package is on offer depending on qualifications and experience as per the following outline:
- Base 76 hours per fortnight plus TOIL provisions.
- Full time annual salary $61,600 - $67,000 per annum. Range depends on qualifications and experience.
- Council provides superannuation at 11.5% plus a voluntary Council co-contribution up to 5%.
- An unfurnished, modern, air-conditioned residence is available for the position.
- The Shire meets all costs associated with power, water and gas utilities. Home internet services with an allocation of data and Foxtel services at a reduced cost also form part of the package. A free freight service from Geraldton operates weekly.
The Murchison Shire has an active community garden, museum, events calendar and sports club. We provide facilities that would not be expected from a “Shire with no Town”.
We embrace a family first approach in the same way as the pastoralists and industry around us. We support employee passions to drive projects and developments, making the most of resources available to us including the skills your family may bring.
Given our unique situation and family first approach it is considered worthwhile that any intending applicants seriously consider how they are personally situated with respect to living and working in Murchison, we encourage you to share skills family members may bring as we support the involvement of family members.
This position is available now.
Further information about the position can be discussed by contacting Bec Fogarty, Community Development Officer by phoning 08 9963 7999 or emailing community@murchison.wa.gov.au
Applications Close: We encourage applicants to apply for this role as soon as possible as the position will be filled once a suitable candidate is identified. |
