Join Our Team – Roadhouse Coordinator Opportunity

Do you have a passion for great service and good food? Then you might be our next Roadhouse Coordinator at the Murchison Oasis Roadhouse and Caravan Park.

We’re looking for a dynamic individual—or couple—to support our Roadhouse Managers and casual staff team. This role includes food preparation and cooking, cleaning, servicing accommodation, and most importantly, delivering outstanding customer service. Relief management duties during the Managers’ 2-week break make this a perfect opportunity for a couple or family seeking a unique lifestyle experience.

About Us The Shire of Murchison may be small in population, but we’re big in size and heart. Located 300km from Geraldton and 650km from Perth, the Murchison Settlement is entirely Council-managed. The Shire operates the Roadhouse and Caravan Park as a community-focused initiative to support tourism and provide essential services to residents and travellers.

We’re proud to showcase the pastoral industry and offer authentic local experiences. The Roadhouse serves freshly made meals, cold drinks, coffee, basic groceries, and warm hospitality. The Caravan Park features 6 motel rooms, 12 powered sites, unpowered camping areas, and clean ablution and laundry facilities—all under our spectacular dark skies.

With recent upgrades including a new pool and splash pad, redeveloped Roadhouse, and modern staff accommodation on the way we’re excited to welcome a new team members to help us grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations including cooking, cleaning, and customer service
  • Relief management during Managers’ leave periods
  • Oversee ordering, rostering, and general operational management
  • Support accommodation servicing and guest experience
  • There is some scope for general gardening and handyman duties

What We Offer

  • Salary: $72,000 – $76,000 per annum (based on qualifications and experience)
  • Roster: 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Superannuation: 12% employer contribution + up to 5% voluntary co-contribution via salary sacrifice
  • Accommodation: Furnished, air-conditioned residence with utilities (power, water, gas) covered by the Shire
  • Connectivity: Home internet and Foxtel services at reduced cost
  • Logistics: Weekly free freight service from Geraldton

While it’s preferred that both positions are filled by members of the same family unit, individual applications are also welcome.

Start Date This position is available now, with an immediate start preferred.

Requirements

  • A strong hospitality background and experience managing similar operations
  • A current driver’s licence and reliable transport (due to our remote location)
