Murchison Shire might be small in population, but we are big in size and heart.


Located 300km from Geraldton and 650km from Perth, the Murchison Settlement is entirely Council managed. Council office, depot, housing, power and water supply, community and recreation facilities, Roadhouse and Caravan Park are now all under our umbrella.

 

Murchison Shire operates the Murchison Oasis Roadhouse and Caravan Park as a local community focused operation to assist in the development of tourism in the region and the Murchison Community and Settlement.


The key position of Roadhouse Manager will require a strong hospitality background and proven management of similar operations whilst the support position will work to assist other casual staff with food preparation and cooking, cleaning, servicing accommodation and overall, delivering excellent customer service.

 

An air-conditioned residence within the Murchison Settlement, with the Shire meeting all costs associated with power, water and gas utilities is supplied for the successful applicants. Home internet services with an allocation of data and Foxtel services at a reduced cost also form part of the package.  A free freight service from Geraldton to the Settlement operates weekly.

 

Whilst it is desirable, as per the current situation, that both positions are filled from the same family unit, this should not discourage individual applications for either position.
